Autumn/Winter Glasses Trends 2023

As October comes to a close, we thought we'd reflect on the glasses that we've been loving so far this Autumn, and the trends we're looking forward to seeing more of throughout the Winter months.

Autumn glasses trends
Pop of Red/Maroon

This year the colour red did not wait until the festive period to make its debut. Its popularity this Autumn can be found everywhere, from fashion to footwear, beauty to accessories. Whether you're ready to dive in with head to toe scarlett or partaking in the leading 'pop of red' trend - consider your eyewear covered. From Lava Red to Maroon Fade, wearing red with IOLLA can be as bright or toned down as you prefer. Whether it's office-wear, casual-wear or dress up this Autumn, an injection of red is the perfect way to experiment with colour or dip your toe into the latest trend this A/W. Shop red frames here

Adding Dimension to your Frames: Styling Chains

Next up, we're loving the personalisation of glasses through glasses chains. These eyewear accessories are so effective in adding dimension and a personal touch to your everyday glasses. Our 'Bryce' chain offers the perfect pairing to our selection of metal and acetate frames alike. For jewellery wearers, the delicateness of this style accompanies your daily jewellery seamlessly.

Our 'Miller' chain in caramel tortoise with chunky acetate links, although undeniably the bolder choice, adds a real luxury feel to your glasses. Whether they blend in with your acetate colour of choice or stand out as a contrast, this chain is the perfect accessory for glasses wearers.

Vintage Frames: Contemporary Looks

Lastly, we're loving the 70's inspired, vintage silhouettes that eyewear makes so accessible.  Bell bottoms and platforms might not be quite so suitable for the office but an acetate aviator - how could you not? Carrying both acetate and metal aviator frames (Lennox, Nicol & Scott) we've got you covered at IOLLA. We've watched the aviator move away from a favourite exclusively in sunglasses to a favourite frame in optical glasses too.

This month's top pick however, is our much-loved new style Elliot. Elliot's shape is another nod to the favoured designs that 70's eyewear championed. Our chunky acetate returns in extended rectangular form in our timeless 'Amber', an every day 'Clear crystal' and new shade 'Azure Blue Crystal'. As the weather turns cooler we're embracing more toned back looks, swapping our favourite brightly coloured sunnies to more neutral tone and shapes. The pair you carry in your bag for the brighter winter days or the pair in your car when battling winter sun.
