We care about what you wear
Our design.
Shaped by you.
Every collection starts with our founder, and with the world around us. The customers we see every day in our showrooms. The people we meet. The things you tell us you love about a frame, and the things you tell us you don't.
Our stylists feed it all back. Every conversation, every fit, every "actually, I wish this was slightly wider" becomes part of how the next collection is shaped.
Designed with you in mind
Each frame goes through multiple rounds of refinement before making the collection, shaped by real feedback from the people who wear them.
In-house finishing
Prescription lenses are fitted in our Glasgow workshop for better quality control. Every pair leaves our hands, not a third-party facility.
Quality materials
We use dependable acetates, metals and components built to last chosen the same way the best opticians choose theirs.
Industry-leading lenses
Our lenses come from a world-class manufacturer with over 90 years of experience. Clarity isn't a luxury it's the standard.
How they're made
Traditional craftsmanship,
properly done.
Our frames are handmade through over 50 stages of production polishing, tumbling and hand-finishing techniques before they arrive in Glasgow.
Those stages aren't a marketing number. They're the reality of making a frame that sits right on your face, holds its shape and still looks as good in three years as it did on day one. It takes time and skill. We think it's worth it.
Quality standards
No shortcuts.
Ever.
We source the best materials globally the same acetates the top fashion brands use, the same metals used by the finest independent opticians.
The difference is what happens between the material and you. We go direct: design it, make it, sell it. Every layer we remove is a saving that passes straight to you. The quality stays exactly the same.
Material sourcing
We select our acetates the same way the top fashion brands select theirs.
Chosen for tactility, depth of colour and how they age. The same criteria the best names in fashion use. We just don't charge you for the name.
The IOLLA difference
Great materials. No brand tax.
Remove licensing agreements, marketing budgets and multi-step distribution, and the cost of a well-made frame is far lower than most people expect. We've structured everything to make that saving real.
Lens manufacture
Clarity shouldn't have
a luxury price tag.
Our team works closely with a world-class lens manufacturer over 90 years in the business across every glazing we offer. Single vision, varifocal, blue light, tinted: every lens type, every coating, every prescription.
The world is worth seeing. We want you to see it in style and clearly. That's not a luxury. It shouldn't carry a luxury price.

Reading your prescription
Your prescription,
decoded.
Every frame we design is prescription-friendly so whatever your script says, your choice in the showroom is never limited. Strong prescription? Wide frame? Thick acetate? We've considered all of it.
- SPH (Sphere) how short or long-sighted you are. Minus is short-sighted, plus is long-sighted.
- CYL & Axis your astigmatism, if any. Not everyone has these values.
- ADD additional magnification for near vision. Usually only for varifocals or reading glasses.
- PD the gap between your pupils. Essential for centring lenses correctly.
| Eye | SPH | CYL | Axis | ADD |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| R | -2.00 | -0.75 | 180 | |
| L | -1.75 | -0.50 | 175 |
Slightly short-sighted in both eyes with a mild astigmatism. No reading addition needed single vision lenses are the right choice.
Varifocal lenses
Varifocals shouldn't feel
like a compromise.
Varifocals have a reputation complicated, hard to adapt to, expensive without explanation. We use free-form lenses as standard: digitally surfaced for wider vision zones, less distortion and a more natural transition between distances.
For everyday wear

Custom tints
Truly custom.
Surprisingly affordable.
Custom tints in eyewear usually start in the £££. Not here. For just £105, you can pick any colourway and have it applied to any frame in the IOLLA collection.
Developed in partnership with a Scottish lab where every colour is mixed by hand, functional, flattering and wearable in real daylight. Prescription-ready. Fashion-forward.
How lens tinting works
Colour mixed by hand.
In Scotland.
Each tint starts with a clear prescription lens and ends with a colour checked for accuracy, depth and consistency. Here's what happens in between.
The lens is prepared
Surfaced and polished to your exact prescription before tinting begins.
The dye is hand-mixed
Pigment dyes blended by hand at our Scottish lab, heated to a precise temperature.
The lens is submerged
Time in the dye bath controls depth longer means richer, shorter gives a gradient effect.
Coated and checked
Coatings applied, then every lens checked for colour accuracy and clarity before it reaches you.
Sustainability
An incredible proposition,
responsibly made.
Everything we offer from quality materials to affordable custom tints means nothing if it comes at an unnecessary cost to the planet. So while we build what we believe is the best value eyewear offer on the market, we're equally determined to do it responsibly.
We're on a journey to keep our footprint minimal: biodegradable and recycled acetates, paper-free processes, in-store recycling, lens refills and a Refresh service to keep glasses in use and out of landfill.
